Two questions:

1. Did you remove the panels prior to fitting the fibre panel (i.e. drill out the rivets)
2. Where did you source them (and how much were they)

1. No. This is on a new build. You could do it to an existing car I suppose, but it would be damn hard to get a side panel off after it's been bonded on. You'd also need to remove all trace of the sealant to get the panel back on properly and napp it over the top chassis rail.

2. Material from a c/f supplier, which I then used to fabricated the panels.

I'd like to do them the same way as you did ideally! Can you obtain more of them?

If not, I'll use the same method as the sides panels. The finish isn't as smooth as an autoclaved c/f panel, but, it remains flexible so you can shape the panel after fitting it.

How thick are the covers? The only issue I see is the overhanging flange (that rolls over the top chassis rail into the cockpit) not matching the thickness of my side panels.

Hi,

My covers are kind of thick and have a sanswich constuction much like the stock sill covers carbon fiber. I can make more of them in any thickness. However I don't think it will look good if you try to fit them against yours in the same manner as you fit the stock aluminum panels. My "curve" is slightly tighter than the tube so it cant interfere with the tube. If you fit them over your panels like I did over the carpet I guess it will look OK.

I found a great place on the outskirts of Guildford, as soon as i have unpacked all of my boxes from the recent house move I will post it here, but they were able to supply pannels 1m x 1.5m also to gain some thickness I had them make a sandwich of 1mm grp with .5mm carbon fibre on the outsides. Looks the business and a lot cheaper!
