Thermosiphon Cooling Systems

Hello people,
I have spoken with a number of customers whom have enquired about fitting electric water pumps to their thermosiphon cooled cars, mostly the idea is to prevent steam pockets forming preventing coolant flow. I am looking to offer a billet hose joiner which can be installed into a straight section of lower radiator hose with a blank in the middle and hose connectors to allow the fitment of a remote electric pump. This should make installation a breeze and look more professional than trying to adapt up a load of reducers together. I'll also add a threaded hole for a rad fan switch should the customer wish to add this at a later date.
I was wondering if owners could measure their hoses, I imagine the following sizes are used but it would be great if a few owners could confirm this:
1.5"
1.75"
2"
2.25"
2.5"

That's an interesting theory about steam pockets. Is there any evidence that there is a problem of that sort, or is this a solution looking for a problem?
I presume you expect the electric pump to run all the time - with it stopped, you may find the thermosyphon doesn't work as the pump would add blockage to impede what is, at best, a very small circulating force.
