fk me, seem to have got a little bit of grit in my eye there...

One can only imagine the current clusterfk at Woking will have watched that with some embarrassment.

Nothing down in Woking today beyond the name relates to McLaren, 15, 25 or 50 years ago sadly.

Basically vanished when Ron Dennis took over.

Same with Lotus, Brabham and Tyrrell. Someone important leaves and the essence of the team is lost.

Great programme!

One question, though. Apparently Bruce is only the second driver to win a Grand Prix race with his own name on the car. Who was the other?

Chap called Jack Brabham...

Edit to add - interesting that both Brabham and McLaren were Cooper drivers - maybe they went away thinking "I could build better than that" (yes I know Brabham won two WCs in Coopers)

Technically, Dan Gurney won a race in his own car, also at Spa, in 1967, it's just that it didn't have his name on it. And again Jackie Stewart was pipped for the win, having to hold his BRM H-16 in gear with one hand and steering with the other.
