Its got to be one of the most posted posts on PH and has been for a very long time.

What if there was an algorythum robot that did this for you? A wish robot like the holiday ones just poking their heads up now..

Im currently delving into the luxury market and my criteria isnt listed in nearly all the ‘search’ engines, christ! They dont even give interior colour options ffs! Nevermind massage seats or active cruise or ventilated seats, yes there are keyword filters but all manufacturers use different terminology.

Basically i think current search engines are way to generic at filtering the goodies on offer..

Imthinking of a not just a search engine that colates all the others (like kayak) but also has an active robot with an algorithm that can come up with suggestions based on your input, im sure (as zx10 pointed out to me) there are other obscure luxury cars out there that give me what i want but im not aware of, so many more manufacturers are going to appear as well, as china and korea grow..

I enjoy the search for a car to a degree but hopping from one engine to another and knowing all the nuances doesnt real add to that enjoyment for me tbh, some dont even enjoy the hunting or learning about all the new stuff, its daunting for a petrol head the speed of development and amount on offer, nevermind a ‘normal’ consumer.

Im thinking youd have a sort of car buying friend 24/7 that know exactly what stuff you like or are looking for and can constantly build info on what it is you like, same as spotify and the like, constantly scanning adds and alerting you when exact spec stuff crops up.

Thoughts? Maybe theres a human version currently i dont know about or even an app already doing this?

Looking to get my teeth stuck into something tbh and know of a team of deveopers that could help, id wager theyd say it would be easy apart from adding the missing criteria which would be a manual read input thing

This...
not difficult logic, but what is the cost in adding that level of detail, and where will you get it from... would the punter's expectation be that they can search on type of leather & manufacturer's name fir it, if so the vendor may not even know the details...

we have built systems which talk automatically to DVLA, so can pick up lots of detail, you could have searches which included mot details - ie avoid a car with mot advisories / this issue etc. but unless you can then auto link the VIN to the manufacturer to pick up the spec then you won't be able to do this fully, though you might still be able to do more than now...
