Citroen C5 Hydractive suspension

Hi all, just took one of these in part ex and its got me stumped, the ride can best be described as "bouncy*? the suspension goes up and down without issue or error and the sports suspension activates, when putting weight on the boot the car seems to bounce and when braking the same happens, the car was obviously traded into me as its an issue.
Has anyone any ideas?
