Stopping Spiders!
Discussion
Hello, this is my first post and I’m hoping for someone’s advice or ideas on a strange little problem I’ve got.
I’ve recently spent a considerable amount doing a DIY restoration on my pride and joy which I enjoy keeping it freshly detailed but I’m having issues with it in storage. I drive it very rarely and find even after a few days of it parked in a heated garage spiders are making themselves a home under the car, now trust me if they just blew away they wouldn’t bother me but they don’t. They’re just accumulating to the point it’s getting silly, the wife’s car doesn’t seem affected so as if there attracted to the underseal or something?
Now does anybody know why they could be there, or what chemical I could spray onto the garage floor to ward them off?
Thank you for reading and thank you to all that help

I've had a wing mirror spider for well over a year now, no matter how much I try and aim the jet wash to get behind the mirror glass to flush it out I can guarantee the next morning a fresh web will be there from the wing mirror across to the door handle.
My mums 10 year old Astra and my wife’s 6 month old A1 both have wing mirror spiders. Same MO.robwilk said:

Another one for the mirror spiders and the attempts to flush out with a hose. I am convinced there were the cause of my mirrors going nuts a few years ago (but maybe not, dunno).
Far more likely the gallons of water squirted into the back of the mirror trying to evict the spider caused it to go nuts...Mr2Mike said:

Was squirting water in there for years without any issues and it started doing it weeks after its last wash. Never bothered getting to the bottom of it as I am the only one driving the car so the mirrors don't need moving anyway.Gassing Station | Bodywork & Detailing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
