991 GT3- lots for sale- price set to tumble?
Discussion
I’m hankering for a 991.2 GT3 but I’m slightly concerned they are still advertised about 40 grand over list price yet there are loads floating about unsold- 57 on the OPC website alone.
A couple of folk I know who work in the car business say it’s currently absolutely terrible regarding new car orders so I can only assume Porsche are down in business as well.
Would it be prudent financially if I wait a few months before buying or make little difference?

I know of a few that have sold for list (Inc bits) , to £20k above, don't know anyone that has paid £40k above list...but as you said quite a few advertised at this range.
I imagine there is a lot of support for them at £140k to £150k so I dont see them dropping dramatcailly.

I'd also add that whilst I know the like of BMW and Audi have been really struggling to shift new cars for most of this year I don't think that's been a problem Porsche has had....especially with the factory shut down so lack of new cars coming through.
Agree that you should be able to get a deal on the GT3 especially if you're not fussy on spec.

Really tough new car month (july) for Porsche (UK registrations) I assume due to diesel and factory shut down.Agree that you should be able to get a deal on the GT3 especially if you're not fussy on spec.
(27% down on last year, but year to date still up 12%

If you wait a few months then you may miss the summer weather and not be able to enjoy the GT3 as you could - which I know from experience is a frustrating thing - my GT3 arrived at the end of October last year and for about 5 months the weather was cold, wet, damp and just basically not GT3 conditions. A couple of folk I know who work in the car business say it’s currently absolutely terrible regarding new car orders so I can only assume Porsche are down in business as well.

As there are so many available then there will be deals to be done - but you will need to get busy on the phone/ email. It will be worth the effort though as the car is fantastic.
Choose the spec wisely and you’ll minimise any future value losses - manual will hold value better - no doubt - as will clubsport.
Depends why you want a GT3 in the first place. If you want a hardcore road race car (or as close as it gets in this day and age) and you are keen to enjoy on track then a GT3 is an ideal choice. If it loses value but you really enjoy the ownership then it will have been money well spent - as I say - buy the right spec and get busy and you should be able to get a good deal.
Good luck hunting

I know people who have paid £35 to £50k overs so a sharp contrast to list !

I also know of a £150k trade sale on a fully speced up car.
As I said on the other thread I am yet to see any list price sales bar flips for a RS which don’t count.
Whole market would have to drop 30% for the wishful thinkers to see list.
The cheapest car I have seen was the private silver car on here, but imo it looked poor value even with a low headline figure it was a low spec early car , netting the seller a nice over on a 2017 car with higher miles and a years use.
What we will see a lot off is quotes about £140k cars which are very low spec so maybe worse value than paying £155k for a 2018 top spec car with sub 1k miles and £25k options.
To see 2018 top spec cars at list we would have to see 991.1gt3 at £80k
People love a low headline figure though to quote on here.
Fake news until I see a invoice from a 2nd ower showing a real buying figure over hearsay.
As there seems to be a lot of bargain hunters let’s see the invoices :-)
But yes there will be a price war on stock as SOR owners cave in over winter, it's knowing when to get in as the best cars sell 1st.
Remember list is £111k add only £5k options and the £30k overs that’s a sale in the £140's !
People are not being realistic on here atm.
