Part of one of our requirements for the business entails locating some tablets for our clients to use our app on. Initially we may need a batch of anywhere between 50-100 units of 10 inch variety with preferably 4Gb of RAM.

Make isn't an issue so long as a warranty is available to be honest.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to look for cheaper bulk stock?

Why do you need 4GB RAM ?

2Gb should run the application fine, but from looking at the specs of some of the tablets available, they don't seem to have decent enough specs to warrant the marginal cost/device difference and should hopefully allow a longer life.

Unless I'm mistaken with how the tablets with older version of Android are, a portion of the memory is allocated to the OS alongside whatever is left to run the App and a web browser with a few (locked tabs) if need be.

Do you have any experience of this? Would love to be corrected and find some cheaper devices if the tablets in question are sturdy enough.

4GB definately limits your choices

Yes some RAM is taken by the system, typically a few hundred MB, the rest is left for Apps, I loaded dozens of Apps on an Android 7 tablet - the largest was 218MB

I see you've mentioned "sturdy" - what is the end use ?

We can help you with this. Our IT division buys from a number of disti's that can have flash sales on certain stock. If you're open to what make/model you have then we can likely get you a good deal on them.
PM me your details and I'll send through a couple of bits

Apologies on the late reply. Some'll be used in a care home environment and others in a pharmacy, so a little sturdyness wouldn't go amiss.

Currently still waiting on feedback from the dev to see when completion will be for the app before we progress to be honest.

Leemanning - thank you for your details and info on where you get your stock. I will message you in due course once things have moved forward a little more.
