Poor little Mito, I thought they were selling well.

Nice enough little cars, but 10 years old now with only a minor facelift and engine changes - must be lagging behind the competition.
And it's in a market that the late Marchionne believed should be occupied by Fiat not Alfa.

Sadly marchionne also neglected to plan a fiat to occupy that market frown And the succes of things like the 500, mini, Audi A1 prove there is room for premium cars in/below the supermini segment.

As to the mito, i had two, and still really like them, it is an absolute shame to see it leave without a succesor, the little car deserved better then that, for a few years it and the aging 159 were the only models alfa even sold. A proper new design to correspond with the Giulia/Stelvio (rather then the 8C) and the new firefly engines would have made for an enticing car, especially given how well the Giulia has been received.

I was hoping to replace my Mito with the successor, but now I'll have to think about something else. The Guilietta just doesn't do it for me, may have to just go for a Guilia.

That is quite the leap in budget/vehicle size...

Personally, id be looking at different brands. Im currently driving a GT which should last a few more years, and the youngest 147s/159s are fine for me as well, but once those hit ~15 years old, im not sure what i would drive, same as you, i dont like the giulietta, and given the giulia's sales figures i dont expect there will be many on the market in ten years, never mind the fact that while i would love a saloon, practicality-wise i really want/need a hatch/sportwagon.

On the other hand, is getting a new-ish mito veloce not an option?

I have just bought a Mito Veloce in Etna Black, Bose, Sabelt carbon seats, dual climate split rear seat and only 10 mile on the clock as a pre registered car.
The RRP is £25500 which we all know is well overpriced, however I paid just £16500 from our local Alfa dealer.
Compared to a Suzuki Swift sport at the same price, its a far nicer car.
