A bit of a long-shot this one, I'm trying to find someone who can do some development on Paxton. I have Paxton installed at a business address, it works really well however I require a function that is not within the standard Paxton functionality. I understand that Paxton do allow developers to create bespoke user applications but beyond that I have drawn a blank. Anyone with knowledge on this?

My company builds bespoke software for businesses and SMEs. Although we have no experience of Paxton we've recently built something for a client to integrate from their Clocking Systems CSTime system to their employee database and factory operations system. Drop me a pm if you want to chat some more.

I have added some extra reporting from Paxton for one of my customers. There is some extra data to support the reports. If this is what you are after, do get in touch.

It is a functionality issue as against a reporting issue. We have Paxton interfaced with ANPR for car park entry. We have more car park users than we have spaces. What I need Paxton to do is deny entry when a pre-set number is hit. Paxton will allow or disallow entry according to set protocol but it does not have the ability work to a count limit, I'm surprised at this as it does not seem to me to be something particularly unusual. Paxton say they are happy to support system development, as indeed I guess it is in their interests to do so for future updates, however they can't suggest how I can this done!

Does the system actually know how many vechicles are in the carpark , does it log leavers , do leavers exit through the same gates, it might not be that simple through anpr to tell how full a carpark is and it would probably get confused on a regular basis either saying the carpark was full when it’s not or allowing entry when all the spaces are gone ! I know they doesn’t help with Paxton software but it might be something that’s handled better by another standalone system in conjunction with the software , just a thought

Yes, we have ANPR at the exit as well as the entry. As an office car park we don't get a lot of churn during the day. Using alternative software is my Plan B, I would prefer to keep everything on Paxton as it is simpler to administer.

That's an interesting requirement. I don't think I would try to work inside the Paxton system, and I'm not sure that Paxton would really like that either!

I have written ANPR based system for working out which cars were in a car park. There can be issues with the ANPR side of things, and it can get confused with sign-written vehicles. You would need a facility to manually adjust the entries and exits to get prefect results.

There's certainly an API. Never worked with it myself though. Try rentacoder?
