Driving along quite happily when all by itself for no apparent reason the drivers window winds itself all the way down. Wouldn’t go back up to start with but eventually it did.

It has happened a couple times since, I think in the rain?? Any ideas

I've had something similar a few times, but just turned out to be my knee catching the button. Just bad ergonomics, sorry, i meant TVR quirkiness i guess, ha ha. I have also found that if you drop the window to the bottom, it may take a few attempts to make it move again. The window motors must get confused, bless `em!

search the forum there are other such similar subjects, with suggestions aiming towards dampness getting into the ecu's for the window motors in the doors. Seems they are fairly cheap to replace.

Same thing happened to me on more than one occasion recently, usually when car went over a pothole or similar.
Try retightening the screws on the body part of the lock mechanism and also check the screws on the door part of the lock.
In my case, the mechanism on the car body had worked its way loose and a heavy jolt easily broke the contact between the 2 mechanisms.
Sorry for the non technical explanation but trust you get my drift?
