Help please. 944 S2 handbrake warning lamp has failed. Where is the switch located and how do I gain access to the instrument panel if it is the lamp ? Thanks

The switch is under the handbrake lever, between the sill and the seat. It is most likely that the wire has come off.

If you need to get to the binacle, there are 4 screws in the air vents, about 3 around the top of the dials and two either side of the steering column. You will need to remove the steering wheel. Then all the screws, remove the trim/air vents then the 4 screws that hold the instrument pod in place. Ease the pod gently forward and release the 3 ribbon wire looms. Then inspect the bulbs on the back.

The switch is on the end of the hand brake lever, just pull back the cover and there is a little micro-switch, simple to adjust.
Sorry can't help with the bulb location or ease of access.

Thanks for the info, from the description I hope it is the switch not the lamp.
