DIY fittment of decats??????

Just bought a pair of decat pipes for my 4.5 cerb.....is fitting these an easy DIY job or is it a fiddly job best left to those who know?!!!

Easy once you get under the car....you may need longer bolts though, as the flanges on mine were thicker than the originals by about 5mm, so th bolts were just too short. Should find that there is enough play on exhaust mounts to carefully lever exhaust backwards to allow cats to come out...

Its easy, axel stands, socket set and some exhaust jointing compound.

Oh and some ear defenders!

Hi, bought them 2nd hand off James Agger after i bought my car off of him. Can't wait to see how it sounds, just wanted to know how easy it was to put them on in case it became too much (sports pipes on too!)

Dont forget you may need longer bolts as the flange clamp is bigger than the standard clamp

Had mine fitted by local ATS. £30 for cash, and he changed all the damaged bolts on the skid plate at same time.

I am getting my sports pipes tommorow, I will be fitting them this weekend,if the the weather is ok, where is the best place to jack up the car, side or rear and on what part is the safest to avoid ant damage?

I find the best place to jack up the car is probably on the drive or in the garage.

Jacking up anywhere on a chassis rail is fine. Sports exhaust + decat will be too loud! There are quite a few different lengths of decat pipes, so check them before you fight with the bolts to take them off!
