definetely want one
Discussion
hello all
i have been contemplating for a little while whether to finally realise a lifelong dream and buy a Cerbera.
my local dealer is Offords and according to their website they have a '98 4.2 for sale for £18,995 it is a gorgeous looking car mendip blue with magnolia hide and it would suit me down to the ground.
the thing is are Offords a good dealer for buying and servicing etc? and do you think that the car is reasonably priced?.
i am intending to go down there at the weekend and have a look at it.
many thanks
James

That car is (assuming it is perfect) reasonably priced for a dealer. Privately it is worth a lot less (certainly to a trader!). If you know your cerbs then buy the first one if it is a good one. If you dont know your cerbs then shop around LOTS. You need to be sure of engine (as far as you can be sure), chassis, brakes, suspension, starter, clutch, tyres, wheels not porous, interior condition, history, accident damage, treatment by owner(s) etc...
You also need to be sure that you can afford 3K pa running costs (plus ins and petrol).

nah i haven't got a spd 6 i have heard too many horror stories about them (engine rebuilds and what have yer)
i have always wanted a Cerb.
yes i do have a 1.2 Corsa as it is good honest and reliable transport and it is ideal for work.

Explain?
Tell you what mate. drive down to Offords in your 1.2 Corsa, ring them first to tell them you are coming and what you are after. See what sort of reception you get - you can then tell what the servicing and aftercare is likely to be.
If you are as serious about buying a cerbera as they are about selling them, then you should both get along famously.
However, have you really thought this through? 3k a year running costs are normal, even with a warranty. Have you checked out insurance? Have you ever driven anything more powerful than the Corsa? How old are you? It's all relevent.

i think i will sleep on it for now!
3k running costs are a bit too steep i have
bills to pay!
i think i will save a bit more and buy later (i will have one one day.....)and leave my Corsa alone! its quite nippy for a 1.2 (i'll give it to my girlfriend when i get a more substantial motor).
my best mate has got a '98 4.5 and i have driven it several times and i adore it.
as for the other thread i have no idea about it it is not me i have never had a spd 6.

Come on James, admit it, you want one but you cant have one, because you are 9 years old, the corsa is your mums, and your mate is dads mate, he lets you sit in his cerb and press the buttons. You found dads pass word on the computer and are now playing with his favourite web sites, you have ordered 3 different sex toys for your mum, happy birthday mum, (oh yeah!) now you are just randomly posting fantasy messages all over the web! GOOD ON YOU MATE, I've been doing the same for years!

alright this is getting out of hand now i wish i had never joined this website because of bloody ignorant bastards like you!
and i don't care if they chuck me off for swearing either.
i thought that when i joined this site i would be able to talk with pleasant people about a subject that i love but i was greatly offended by the nature of comments i got from this discussion i hope
you feel proud of yourselves for bullying me out of here and i hope the administrators make an example out of you in front of everyone.
at least i have the courage to stand up to bullies like you.
i know it doesent apply to everyone on here, who are decent people, but i am through
goodbye
