Thinking about buying a Macan

I’m thinking about buying a Macan for my wife, as a first time Porsche buyer I had some questions, hopefully some of these can be answered by the experienced PH community:
- if any one selling/trading in, give me a shout!
- is it similar to the Audi SQ5 or is it a complete different car?
- do Porsche do 5 year service packs like BMW etc?
- if I were to get 20 inch alloys, would the ride be as god awful as BMW’s with RFT’s (even with adaptive drive). Fed up with rubbish roads and rubbish rides.
- Are residuals on new cars still solid?
- any other hints, tips and advice would be most welcome

I can answer a few questions.
No service packs available ( servicing quite expensive...)
Ride on 20” is good even on steel springs. Airsuspension an option if you want better ride and wheels up to 21” available
Nice to drive and own. Handling is sharp for a 2 ton suv, not like a 911 but is a good compromise

Adaptive suspension is available as an option on the 5 Series as well. I think Air is standard on the rear for the Estate. I had adaptive suspension on my 6GC, I believe the options are the same on the 5 but the names are slightly different.
On the 6 the options were VDC (Variable Damper Control) and Adaptive Drive (VDC + Adaptive Roll Bars). From memory VDC is ~£1200 and Adaptive Drive ~£2500. Mine was a pre-reg so the dealership ticked the boxes and took 100% depreciation on them :O
It did give a very compliant ride in Comfort+ (mine was on 20's). But I prefer a more "engaging" drive so tended to keep it on Normal and occasionally Sport when throwing it into corners. Aside from the occasionally skittish run flats the ride didn't really bother me. But I don't do that many miles.
Unfortunately, given it holds little value in terms of residual or enticing a buyer, you rarely find it on demonstrators. If you ever switch back to BMW check AUC's for one with it spec'd and ask for a test drive. Doesn't have to be the model you want, you'll get a decent impression provided what you test is running on similar sized wheels and platform.
If you're in the South East you'll probably have to feign interest in the AUC car
as SE dealers can't be arsed to give you a test drive in their demonstrators let alone an AUC :/

as SE dealers can't be arsed to give you a test drive in their demonstrators let alone an AUC :/That's what I had to do trying to find X5 with the adaptive suspension and/or the dynamic handling pack (active anti-roll bars etc).
Had to wait ages for a couple to turn up as AUC and feign interest to get an albeit brief drive.
