TV to AV Amp wireless AV - no BT on either end? Simple Pls!
Discussion
Okay, finally admitted I am getting old and tech is leaving me behind...!
I have a Sony KDL50W829B TV which is wall mounted and my 15+yr old Marantz SR4200 AV AMP & Tannoy speakers/Subwoofer which I am still happy with from a sound point of view.
Whilst I was clever enough to connect Sky box and DVD to the TV & AMP at installation, at no point did I think about linking the TV to my AMP to watch netflix a few years later. I also want to be able to stream spotify to my AMP from iPad etc.
So...TV does not have bluetooth and neither does AMP (or HDMI, one optical input being used and lots of RCAs). I am not going to drill any more holes for cables (last one went into another room by accident!) Due to position TV also does not have access to any further power points.
Whilst I understand I can buy a BT dongle for TV or for amp to send or receive a BT signal, is it possible to do this at both ends and have them talk to each other?
Simple answers, preferably with Amazon links please! Of course I could be missing something obvious...pic below (AV is out of shot on LHS).
Thanks in advance,

Possibly time for an amp upgrade.

HDMI ARC from your TV to the amp. All sources into the amp. Amp has Bluetooth and supports Spotify.

Trying to avoid an amp upgrade but tempting; looking first for an option with my current set up as can’t run anymore hdmi cables...https://www.richersounds.com/denon-avrx2400-blk.ht...

What do people think of the two BT option; feasible of am I missing something?

You don't need to run any more (assuming you have one in there already).Just one HDMI from the TV to the new amp (your TV has ARC). Everything else gets connected amp side.

As others have said, an amp update is going to be your easiest route, it's catered for with ARC. Wireless adapters are generally designed to be used one end not both, even if you can get them to work both ends you'll probably have lip-sync issues. What do people think of the two BT option; feasible of am I missing something?
Doing a quick search, your telly can be made wireless but for receiving signals not for sending out audio but it is ARC compatible (HDMI2 so you may need to move the cable if it's connected to HDMI1)
You just need an Arc compatible Av amp to go with it.
Pretty much all AV amps with HDMI are ARC compatible these days, starting at about £200 but if you want a Marantz it's going to be a bit pricey. The good news is that a grands worth of 10 year old amp will probably be a similar sound quality to a new £300 amp, so if you're not worried about sticking to the brand then it's not a big issue.
If your Marantz handled digital video switching simply adding a box to it would be the easiest route.
