Help! What car(s) next?
Discussion
Hi I have recently parted with my Range Rover Sport, it was my boy hood dream to own one and I didn't want to sell it. I however woke up one morning a few months back realising I was now in my 30's did the math as to its cost per mile, and swiftly advertised it for sale. Now got a Ford C-Max which is a complete PoS, picked it up for next to nothing a bit battered from mate after it failed MOT changed few suspension components and various bits and now run round in it. It fits the dogs in and is positively frugal in comparison to the Range Rover.
Problem is i don't want the Cmax, not one bit! In my 10years driving history Ive only ever had cars I wanted (that i could afford) rather than what was practical or just met my needs so my car history is to some limited (Mk2 Golf GTI, Alfa 146Ti, BMW M3, Range Rover Sport) as well as a long history of sports bike currently have a 1000cc Fireblade which i brought for kicks when i got the RRS. I spend most nights reading reviews and looking at cars/bikes I can't afford and class myself as a complete petrol head.
I drive mostly around town, to work, shops, family and friends houses etc. On top of these day to day bits I have two dogs and love to take them to the local woods for long walks come rain or shine which the Range did with ease, we also do a few weekends away just the wife and I which again the Range Rover did with ease for space and comfort. I want something that I'm going to not just love driving but love owing.
So my thoughts with a £45k ish buying budget....
Get shot of Cmax and get an old Discovery3 or something for dog walks down the woods and running about it and get a second car that i love for just the weekends thats not going to drop horrifically in price, currently looking at Astons (V8 Vantage Roadster)?
What is the price of V8V doing of recent, I've not been tracking them long enough to see if they are still dropping below the 40k wish for an early Roadster. What else is out there that i should consider as a "weekend" car?
If your still with me after reading all the above im hopeful you'll have some valid input that may guide a fellow PH'er.
TIA.

If you can stretch the budget then this super rare Track Pack GT-R is where my money (now these are very special cars) would go:

Thanks not sure I’d given any of these a thought..... obviously there is no magic answer but what’s most likely to hold its value? I’m going to assume the GTR with track pack but I’m not sure the budget will allow me this. Especially if it’s going to split between a dog/run around and a weekend driver?
All three won't depreciate too hard but of the three I'd say the Corvette would be a good bet for holding value as will the Maserati, you're correct in thinking a Track Pack R35 will be a hard find & costly.
The Vettes are great fun & I enjoy driving them every time I get in one & have never found the LHD a real problem, test drive one you might be surprised.
