TT Mk2 head unit identification/ replacement
Discussion
The Mrs is buying an 06 TT mk2 and wants to swap the head unit over as it doesn't have decent navigation or bluetooth phone.
The guy down the pub knows a bit about this stuff apparently so is going to come up with some options but has asked us what is in it at the moment, I know it has the Bose option but i;m unclear on the head unit, I've tried doing a google but can't seem to identify it.
The headunit that is currently in it is the one:

Also if the guy in the pub fails to come up with anything can anyone come up with suggestion for a replacement (must have nav and BT) and anyone that can do the installation around cambridgeshire?

Known as 'CD nav' or just 'old'. It was never common/popular and was pretty poor even when new so there's little written about it.
All 8J TTs use the same style/size/fit of head unit.
If the car has bluetooth already you can reuse the module to connect into an Audi RNSE 3G (the factory navigation system) unit. RNSE is feeling a bit old now and won't save you any money buying a modern equivalent. No easy DAB option either.
What are you looking to spend?

Cheers I did gather that it wasn't of any particular use hence the wanting to change.
Budget is limited to low '00s though as she has just been made redundant and the car purchase is to replace the company car that is going back.
I was thinking of something like a xtrons head unit but a) don't know what extras we would need and also b) how to fit it c) bloke in the pub said they're crap
Hence any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
