Sea Fishing - Cornwall

I'm off to Cornwall for a week or so tomorrow & was hoping to do a spot of Sea fishing with the old man. We've only got coarse float fishing gear but am planning on grabbing some braided line & some crank baits/lures. Question is, does anyone know where the fishing is decent near Bude? Happy to travel for up to an hour to either Beach, Rock or Pier fish?
