Took my 1985 Fiat to Nordschleife
Discussion
This summers trip to LeMans Classic 2018 didn't only include a very nice PistonHeads Friday Service (thank you!) ...

...but also the trip back to Sweden.
After a few days in Champagne..

...with dad & his wife we found ourselves with a car full of fine bottles going north, past Alsace, Mosel and... Hang on, Nürburg!!
My dad always wanted to go there so we made a visit.
After a calm lap with my scared-to-death-dad I did a few laps of my own, this is the 4th and last before they closed TF that day.
I was under no illusion to break any laptimes but was pleased to see the last lap was BTG 10.05, not bad still for a pretty std 1260kg 122hp car on GoodYear street tires and std brakes (Nordschleife is easy on brakes, given).

a Nardi wooden wheel is not very grippy in 31dec C hence weird gripping, however the missed gearchanges I have no escuses for!

Nice car.
I went to the PistonHeads bbq with an XK150, then went to the Classic Lemans then a few days later went to the Ring on a stag and drove around in my E type. I was all epic.
You following me? I think I might remember seeing a Fiat like yours. You get a bit snow blind at both events with so many cars, especially 911's

If you do a google image search for 'Fiat Argenta' there's only one pic of one going sideways on a track - and it looks suspiciously like the OPs - good result!
Hehe.. Thanx! Thats from this day:

I've always loved 60s/70s Fiats - they were just so much more interesting mechanically than anything else of that era!
The 124 Coupe and Spyder had twin-cam engines and 4-wheel disc brakes, while contemporary MGs had a push-rod engine and rear drums - Fiats were space-age back then!
But towards the end of the 70s the Mirafiori came along with a push-rod engine and rear drums - what were Fiat thinking?
The 132 2 litre kept the twin-cam, but also got rear drums - and then it all went FWD and I lost interest completely.
Which is probably why I also find myself in 10+ year old BMWs now - RWD and N/A straight 6 petrol engines.
But thanks for keeping your Argenta going, and for posting it's progress! I love those rear window blinds.

Totally agree, altho towards the end of its life the 131 Supermirafiori 2000TC was no slouch. Still rear drumbrakes tho (For lower maintence probably.. The Argenta Volumex & Turbodiesel had rear disc´s.)
The rear blinds were std equipment no less, on the Argenta 120ie. As was sunroof, ZF power steering, el.windows, c.locking, interior light delay, intermittent wipers with memory etc.
