Hi guys, thinking of fitting a Milltek cat back exhaust on my RS3 (8p), not gonna mess with cats as I don’t wanna spend over the top money on exhaust and remap (again).

Anyway, I love a loud good sounding car but also don’t want to be antisocial. Can anybody here tell me if a non resonated exhaust is that much louder than the resonated version please? I live in a rural part of the country and can’t just pop down a local tuner to hear one first and watched countless videos on YouTube but I don’t trust mics and speakers enough for a honest opinion.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't help specifically, but the stock RS3 sounds pretty lively and whenever I have used non-res on other cars it has made a noticeable difference.

with the cats in place its still going to sound "quiet" so get the non-res.

True, RS3 sounds decent stock, which makes me lean towards the non res because otherwise I may as well stick with standard.

Yes, keeping the cats in place I think would warrant a non res as they will restrict sound. Just don’t want to sound like a boy racer.
