Having found out the other day, after 18 months of ownershiprolleyes that the armrest slides forward in my E61 lci touring I was wondering what the whatsit with the warning sign was for; a bit of Googling and looking at schematics shows it referred to as a 'blind plug', but what is it plugging? Have I missed out on some really cool piece of optional equipment? Any thoughts? The dirt will be vacuumed away this weekend BTW.

Mind the gap...

Caution, potential finger-trap risk....

Take Care when opening as objects might have moved during the last roundabout and could fall out injuring passers by....

That's where the SMG red cog of death lives. If you open it up with a key and throw it away, you'll never get transmission problems wink

It’s a redundant plug hole for some accessory or option never fitted to the car, just a blanking plug (or blind plug as BMW call them) there’s nothing under there.

laugh I guess it will remain one of life's mysteries, along with what 'Dummy SALAPA' means.

It’s just a screw cover with a warning symbol on to make sure u don’t leave items in that area - where’s the mystery !?

It's a no entry sign just incase you decide to try and access the stowage compartment from the rear seat.
