I'm going to Belgium in my Chimaera next month, its running very well but I'm not going to risk a trip without breakdown cover! However my insurer has told me they can't add ALPS cover because the car's over 16 years old now, also hear that ADAC isn't an option any more.
Looks like AA & RAC offer breakdown cover regardless of cars age, but wondered if anyone had any other European breakdown cover they'd recommend?

I too have my TVR covered within my Classicline policy.

I needed cover for another car (Porsche Cayenne) which is over 10 years old and is a high miler, AA and RAC would cover but the cost for a two week trip was frankly taking the piss!

After a lot of searching, I found Driver Guardian:

https://www.driverguardian.co.uk/

One year's cover, which includes the whole of the UK and up to 31 days in Europe (per trip, up to a maximum of 90 days in the year) was £89.

I just ran my 1999 TVR Chimaera through the online quote tool and it comes up with £134:

I used Adrian Flux break down cover which you can buy separately (ie not through their insurance) approx 56 pounds for EU cover per year.

Never used it so cant say how good it would be, but seemed to tick the boxes for an order "classic car" - as most other breakdown cos limit to the age to the car.

Good luck

I use Hagarty for all the TVRs and there policy includes all that as standard they only do one policy and that covers everything however i dont think they would insure a later model TVR they tend to only cover the older Pre 80s models.

I used LV (Liverpool Victoria) for my 1988 TVR S which they brought back from Le Mans and flew us home. Had been part of multi car package for the UK and then an extra £28 for Europe when needed. Best £28 ever spent rolleyes

Thanks a lot all for the replies. Gone for the Adrian Flux option, £79 for an annual policy covering UK & Europe, & no issue with it being for an older car.
Hope I won’t need it but will let you know if I do!
