Quick question for those exchange gurus out there... Client that I am doing a server install for is currently using the windows address book in outlook express with a hacked registry key so everyone points to the same WAB across the network. Now I am upgrading him to Exchange with full version Outlook on each PC - How easy is it to import a WAB into Exchange Server so everyone can view the same address book? He is not using Exchange as his mail transfer medium, he is using POP3 accounts via a seperate router. Any help would be appriciated Gh0st

You could export the WAB to a CSV using Outlook Express, reformat it in Excel or something, then use the process and tools mentioned here -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327620 to create contacts in the AD (assuming E2k/2k3).

If you're using 5.5 just use admin.exe to import the data into the Exchange directory.

...or have somebody save it as a personal folder and then make the folder public on the Exchange machine afterward...

It very much depends where you want the information (and who you want to be able to update it).

Traditionally, people use the GAL for name lookups, but I've seen Public Folders used (although it's never as convenient as using the GAL as Outlook expects to pull address information from there).
