Thats really true.A car can get to 100K with more or less no attention and then need a ton of work (ask me how I know).
To get beyond that usually someone has had to give it a bit of care along the way and to get to moon miles usually someone has had to love or respect the thing enough to look after it.
Looks in fine fettle that.

I used to sell them years ago and thought the 2.7 was a cracking engine.
Good going; I've only seen one of these go 'pop' with a gearbox (tiptronic) failure at 317k. Engine was fine and car in generally good order; the price of the repair was simply too great to justify on a car the owner wanted to replace anyway.
No reason that can't do many more miles. C6 generation A6s were pretty tough.

I bought it without a lot of history so I don't have a lot of specific info on it's life however the seller had advised me it had new clutch relatively recently (last year) as well as gearbox refurb at some point (or gearbox replacement, he couldn't remember).
To me the clutch and gears feel slick and as expected and not that of a 300k car. My girlfriend has the same vehicle albeit with circa 130k on the clocks, she's owned hers for a number of years and said mine feels no different in use, in fact a little pokier if anything. I advised her that's the difference between Tesco vs Shell fuel
I got in touch with Audi UK and they advised it had main dealer servicing at the required intervals up until around 100K which is when they last saw it. Obviously it's done 200 more since then.
Oh, one last question.....do these model audis have dpfs?What would you like to know?

Brilliant this! Dont know what it is with really high mileage cars, there is almost a air of respect with them, as you would respect an elderly gentleman reaching 95 of age and all their wisdom....

The cab driver I use in Spain had an A6 with 770,000 km on it. Diesel of some sort, manual box. He was very picky about maintenance, and the car spent its life on the smooth motorways around Malaga, but it looked (and appeared to drive), perfect. I think in that period it had had 2 clutches and a gearbox, engine had been unopened.
He's given it to his brother (also a taxi driver....) and is now in an equivalently sized Skoda estate of some sort.

Fair play to you. I had a 3.0 V6 petrol one of these on 60k and it was the most unreliable car I've ever owned. Part of that was due to the multitronic gearbox, but various other modules failed in various catastrophic ways, and it needed recovering twice in as many months.
The interior felt well put together, and it was ridiculously economical for a petrol 6, but those are about the only positive things I can say about it. Perhaps I got unlucky, but I'd never buy one again.
