Brands has very stringent noise restrictions. Lots of cars don’t get past the static test. Most GT cats fail. I once worked there as an instructor and knew the guy on the noise meter. They are paranoid about on track noise breeches.

What are you driving on the day?

Hey Steve, I’ll be in the GT4… it’s a noise day (105db) and have double and triple checked with the PCGB office as to whether or not I’ll be ok, as yeah I’ve heard it is a sensitive circuit.… so I better be.

No - its the Indy circuit. I was going through same thinking process wink

I think the noise limits are much lower for GP (typically 101db) with the Indy circuit have mixed days (101db or 105db)

What a very excellent morning - I left at lunch. Superbly organised - if a little busy - and a lovely collection of cars. I hope that others enjoyed it as much as I did.

I only signed up at the very last minute and didn't get the registration info. I will be immensely grateful to anyone who PMs me a link to the photography.

Well I did get kicked off by the end of the day... was supposed to be a 105dB noisy day... but i spaced out my 4 stints throughout the day...

Verbal warnings in the sighting laps-starting 0930,
Verbal warnings in the 1st free session, starting 1130,
1st black flag at the end of stint 3, starting 1415 as soon as I got 2 clear laps and went quick.
2nd black flag at the end of stint 4, starting 1600, again as soon as i got 2 clear laps and went quick.

By that time it was pretty home time.. and people were clearing off. I tried to sneak out again but they nabbed me. Would have had the track to myself... next time!

That would frustrate me. Well done though for spacing yourself out. 105db should be fine. They must have lowered the driveby limit.

I heard quite a few cars got kicked off (or had to run at low revs). Sadly when standard circuit cars like GT4 and GT3 can no longer run at Brands at full throttle then it no longer is a proper track circuit.

It was frustrating but I paid for a day so had to restrain in order to be able to stay on.
As you say.. it’s a shame..but at least I can tick it off on my list... probably won’t run there again in this car unless they have a miracle unlimited day...which will never happen.
