Hi all,

I'm thinking about going over to Belgium with my 9 year old lad next year for the GP and was wondering where to start with it all.

What is the process for booking camping/tickets. Is it directly through the track or do they use a 3rd party booking firm?

Any hints/tips on how to proceed, where to go, what's best etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I booked the full weekend tickets direct through www.spagrandprix.com which is the official ticket venue. Also booked camping through there.

the campsites are mad, lots of noise, generators, people in fancy dress having a non-stop party from Thursday until Sunday night.

weekend bronze general admission ticket cost 130 euros each, camping (40 square metres) was 160 euros.

didn't go this year, but in 2017 the crowds were staggeringly HUGE.

campsites are mostly around the various track entrances, so assuming you can walk you will be fine. maps and other stuff like entrances etc should be findable on the above website.

you will need
folding camp chair.
rucksack with snacks and drink.
plastic pack a mac for when it rains
suntan lotion for when the sun comes out.

enjoy! it is a great experience, beaten only by going there for a double trackday earlier this year and spending two days driving the circuit myself smile

Perfect reply above, I booked using the same outlet, tickets and camping.

Everything else is 100% accurate, you'll both have a blast I'm sure.

And nowhere near as mad as the circuit campsites, we were talikng to a British couple on quali day last year who were in the Yellow campsite (think it was Yellow), they had one hours sleep on the Friday night, the europop stopped around 4.30 a.m., they'd set their alarm for 5.30! CampingF1 quietens down by midnight, they'd certainly be my choice at Spa, we've used they twice there.

Another option is Monza and a hotel - GA tickets are cheap, great atmosphere, quite a few flight options (car not needed). Might work out the same price and a similar experience.
