Emergency lock entry advice
Discussion
Hi, new to this forum and to owning a chimaera. I have a slight issue with the emergency entry features but reading on the forum people it appears do not liking speaking about it on an open forum which is fair enough. Is there anyway of telling where people are located? ie I am in central Norfolk but would like to take my car to a local chimaera owner (not a dealer) so I can point out my issues and discuss things in general, alternatively who can I go to to find out exactly the correct method for cables etc thanks in advance.
The first thing to do would be look up when your local Tvrcc meeting is ( usually ) once a month at a pub etc, take your car along and start chatting.
As your not only new to Tvr but also Pistonheads most will be reluctant to discuss anything security related which is a very good thing when you think about it.

Welcome to the forums.
Where are you having your pride and joy serviced?
I ask because the best place for miles around is Mat Smith Sportscars in Downham Market (01366 38604), which cannot be far from you.
I travel the 80 miles from Newark to go to Mat's because he is simply the best, and he has a free courtesy car if you need it while yours is being attended to.
Mat not only knows the cars inside out, he races a Chimaera, owns an S, and is just a fount of knowledge.
Just allow plenty of time for conversation when you go there - nobody gets away quickly!
Mat will be able to answer your questions, in the mean time please post up some pictures of your car for us all to enjoy.
You are right, we are just a tad cautious about answering security related questions for people we don't know, but will do as soon as we have chatted to you for a short while.

Thanks for the replies, how do I go about finding out when the local TVR meet is on? When I click the 'events' tab on this site it doesn't bring anything up. Yes Downham is quite close to me but I haven't really got a problem with the car exactly, I need to know where the various cables go as I feel I am missing one. I will try to get it across to Downham anyway just so I can have a chat, but I did not want to take up his time just chatting as he has a business to run.
Mat is like any small businessman, except he is 6 ft 7in.
He is happy to see a new customer who wants to come and say hello, and in my experience he will answer any questions you have willingly.
Just give him a call first to arrange a time (01366 386004), and blame me. He knows my PH name - he had a sticker made up as a surprise for the top of my plenum when he fitted me a new engine last year.
Mat is one of life's good guys.

Whereabouts are you based? I think there is a Cambridge based group and a Norfolk/Suffolk group, both TVR Car Club, but they will happily welcome anyone.
Norfolk/Suffolk call Richard Chilcott on 07957675029 or David Whittingham on 07394 383196. They have an em,ail adfress of ro@tvrcc-suffolk.co.uk.
Cambs meets on the third sunday every month at Slepe Hall, St Ives. Call Trevor Jones on 07900 181475 or email ro@tvrcc-cambs.co.uk
Both areas have a website address which is www.tvrcc- etc as the email
There is also a mid-essex group that meets up on the second Sunday at Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre in Witham www.midessextvr.co.uk.
The next big meeting is at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on 23rd September, with a run out in convoy through South Yorkshire and the Peak District on the previous day if you fancied making a weekend of it.
