Hi All,

My lease with VWFS finished on Sunday, I have had no contact from them or BCA about collecting the car and it remains on my drive, insured and taxed.

Do you think it is okay to still use the car whilst I wait for them pull their finger out and collect it?

Thanks!

My wife was recently told that she had to contact BCA herself to get the car collected. The telephone number is 03332414206 (If i have read her scrawl right).

Contact BCA.

I finished my lease slightly early and once I had paid the early termination fee the Finance company said Manheim would be in contact to organise collection.
I waited a few days and nothing so called them and they gave me a collection date (next Wednesday).
Now panic to get the scratches sorted and the chipped windscreen repaired :-)

It wasnt a lease, but HP, that I VTd many many years ago and they left the car with me, on my drive for 7mths before collecting it. It was BCA who were just so lax about it, I even offered to drop it off for them to make it easier but they didnt want me to. I contemplated sending them a letter detailing charges if it wasnt collectd but never got round to it.

I just didnt understand the business model where it made sense to leave a 2.5yr old convertible for that period of time, depreciating etc...

According to posters in another thread there are fields full of ex-lease / PCP cars waiting to be dripped into the market so as to keep used prices up. wink

I contacted BCA to get it organised - mostly because I wanted to hand It back a week early and not service it, but it was still only 4 weeks before the end of the lease and they had made no contact with me. When I did phone it turned out they only do inspections in my area on Wednesdays and the next 2 were fully booked so worth making the effort if anyone's looking to get rid of cars early.

That's odd, VWFS contacted me about 2 weeks before my Touareg was due to go back, arranged a date for the inspection and collected it bang on time a few days later.

Super, thanks for the replies, I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Do you think it's okay still to drive it?

One quick word of warning, my Touareg got picked by BCA on May 28th and a week or two ago I got a PCN from Dart Charge saying I had gone through the tunnel without paying on July 2nd.

I supplied Dart Charge with a copy of the handover slip clearly showing the vehicle was picked up on the May 28th and assumed that would be the end of it, but they've rejected my evidence without stating very clearly what was wrong with it?!

I've been onto VWFS today, they've agreed the vehicle was picked up on the 28th and have supplied me with an email to confirm.

I'll send a copy of the email off today to these morons, for the sake of £37.50 I'm half tempted to pay it, but why the hell should I?

Long story short, get as much evidence as possible when they do finally pick up your vehicle.

Contact Dart Charge again and just reiterate that you have proof that it was not you as its a lease car - remembering that they got your details by going to VWFS initially - surely they can add up two and two?

I have done, but you have to go through an online appeal process and wait it out until they've reviewed the evidence, again.

I'm seriously tempted to invoice them for wasting my time, I spent about an hour yesterday gathering as much evidence as possible and then re-submitting it all.

Finally got around to calling BCA, they were helpful in arranging inspection and collection.

They also confirmed that it is fine to keep driving the car up until it is collected even tho the lease has ended, they require it to remain insured and mot'd during that time.

Thanks again!
