Does anyone know how this celeb who is held up as a role model is allowed to avoid attending court, why he is entitled to a 'case managemnet hearing' yet joe public are not!

What part of UK legislation allows this different treatment?

Is this another 'Mr Fixer' case?

What makes you think non-celebrity defendants don't have case management hearings or not attend all hearings in person?

Lovely bit of outrage, maybe you should call him a snowflake and mention the value of all the houses he owns, then your Daily Mail NP&E rant would be complete.

In 40 yrs I have nevered heard or seen of them for speeding,never!

SJPN is nothing to do with this case.

He has pled not guilty and is appearing in courts.

oh edited - didn't realised he had pleaded Not Guilty.

Do you know of any non celeb cases of speeding where there have been case managment hearings. If so what / why were the circumstances?

My mate didnt attend court for his speeding case. He pleaded guilty by post.

FYI he isnt a celebrity and was caught doing 56 in a 30

Never heard or a case managment hearing for a simple speeding offence for joe public.

Surely it will just be his legal team making representations at this hearing?

Simple google to find.....
"The parties themselves (unless you are litigant in person) do not have to attend in person, however, your solicitor will attend on your behalf.

Yes that facility has been available in certain cases for years but it was for guilty pleas only. I am trying to work out what legislation allows celebs to have 'case managemnet hearings' where as joe public get's the "guilty or not guilty" take it or leave it mate attitued from the courts

I assume it's not tax camera.

He'll be pushing back against a policepersons word that he was speeding.

That is civil law (county court) not criminal law (magistrates,crown court). Simple google!
