Need to re-fit the cats for mot. Any daft pitfalls to avoid chaps such as wrong way round rotate or something equally daft?

Cheers

They'll only fit 1 way round. The fitting on manifold and exhaust center section is different.

The main pitfalls of putting them in is getting the exhaust straight again.

Whilst on this subject has anyone ever managed to join the centre pipes with the flange that is welded to each one ?

I never have and one of the most annoying aspects of driving BlackBeauty© is the vibration that I get with some part of the exhaust system always finding a way to rattle on the chassis.

Anyone else suffer with this PITA ?

Mr Cerb

My flanges are all loose which turned out to be very convenient to avoid the problem you mention. I was able therefore to have them all a slighltly different angles so no contact anywhere. Dunno if someone befoe me had modded them in any way or that was from the factory, the chassis rails in particular do get very close!

I recently made a pair of linked decats which has also stopped the exhaust moving. Whilst I was doing it I welded a plate between the two pipes so I could put a anti vibration mount in that bolts to the chassis tray. It’s stopped the movement a lot. As for the flanges it’s getting them in just the right place to avoid the heat shield and the tray. Another trick I’ve done is a large jubilee clip around the ends of the manifold you can squeeze them together to help avoid the chassis rails.

MOT passed today, no advisories! One Cat, however, is definitely better than the other tongue out

Other than that, happy days!
