So after fitting a set of new plugs and new fuel hose last night, I thought it needed a run today to check everything was OK. Anyway after about 15 miles it backfired and cut out( blocking one lane of a main road in Sheffield causing total chaos). All dash lights, fuel pump,starter and fans were dead.
Fast forward 3 hours later, they recovered me back home.
Turns out the fuse in position 21 has melted completely, so much so that the fuse fell to pieces and the terminals are embedded in the fuse box and I cant get them out.
Now if I bridge this broken fuse everything comes back on and I can start it up again. So this is part of the problem, however;
A. What is the likely cause. Why would the fuse just not have blown ?
B. Does anyone have a Fuse box, I could exchange for beer tokens.

Also this is my first breakdown in over 5 years of ownership and many trips abroad so it had to happen sometime.

Cheers Colin

Best of luck finding a box.

You could bypass that fuse.
Take a supply from one of the spare pins at Block L (the others will be Brown so use the same colour wire.
Take that to an inline fuse holder.
Disconnect the Red wire at Block M pin 30ac and connect it to the other end of your inline fuse. (this wire goes to the ignition switch).

Cheers Steve, I had thought about bypassing and putting another fuse in line as you mentioned but wasnt sure how. I will have a look tomorrow and see if I can locate the blocks you mentioned.

Good result.
You're still welcome to the wiring info.
