Searching for IT evening/weekend roles
Discussion
IT managers, HR workers and PH directors with goatees, I wonder if anyone could provide some pointers in the right direction.
I'm in need of a second job and would like to stay in the field I know so have been looking for part time IT Tier 1 support roles, I keep reading of people able to do support/password resest and the like as a evening job but for the life of me I cannot find even any evidence of this happening.
I've check the usual job sites (Indeed, Reed, Monster, Jobsite et al) but although there are IT jobs nothing part time, and am wondering if anyone in the relevant fields know where they would look if they were hiring.

They do exist, we have a 24 hr IT helpline but for a 10k system business its just 2 people working from home on standby rotation for out of hours cover. It's real bottom of the rung stuff, password resets, log for tomorrow or escalate to the on-call infrastructure team for critical application/server outages.
Outsourcing companies such as SCC / Fujitsu / Capita all have out of hours desks but operate accross multiple customers and generally from conversations I've had are in the office.

And are often offshore. Also increasingly things like password resets are highly automated.Gassing Station | Jobs & Employment Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
