Yeah, I entered the comp! Some accountant won it, and was going to sell it for the cash IIRC, which defeats the point of the competition, it should have gone to an enthusiast who couldnt afford one outright.

I would think that any car that ham fisted bloke has been anywhere near would be worth less than normal.

That said I be he doesnt rag the arse of his own cars the way he does with the test cars on TG

I recall an issue of Top Gear where his 355 was ragged around the Nurburgring when their press car booking fell through...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was told by a salesman in the Ferrari dealer in Colchester that he had sold Clarksons car to a customer who had subsiquently ordered a 360. I enquired as to weather he would call me when it came in so I could buy it as I loved the spec. But I bought a Noble instead (and never got the call)

Also had the option to buy Jay Kays 355 a couple of years ago.

GN

I thought Jay Kay was famous for still having every car he had ever owned (I seem to remember that he sold his first, but tracked it down and bought it back).

....or did I just dream that one day (my brain is not what it used to be!).

20 years later I hope that came true.

Not sure if the original poster is still around, wouldn't let me quote it directly for some reason.

I assume if the picture of Clarkson was taken sometime before 2005 then he must have been around 40. Yikes.
