Yellow Peril - Octavia VRs

I think I'm developing a yellow Skoda fetish. No sooner had this landed on my drive and I'm trawling the internet for Felicia Fun pick ups...
Anyway! Following the events of this thread my wife and I decided to re-jig our car situation with me replacing my lovely but somewhat flawed as a family car Focus ST with something cheaper and more practical. Enter the Banana.
I have previous with the Octavia VRs having had a mk1 a few years ago, and even though I've had much faster and much more expensive cars since it's the only thing I've ever regretted selling.
Faced with getting something with decent rear seat space and a big boot the answer was obvious. I was adamant that I wanted a yellow one as I always seem to end up with cars in colours that I'm not really happy with and regretting it, I wouldn't be making the same mistake so yellow it was.
A good friend was kind enough to take me up to Hull to collect it, I'm over the moon with it.
My son was also suitably impressed.
Obligatory first mod completed.
I've also just bought some VRs mats and some new centre caps as it's currently sporting some naff fake carbon looking ebay specials.
Only niggle so far are the gas struts being a bit reluctant to open the boot, not surprising given how vast and heavy the tailgate is. I'll be replacing them shortly as they're only £30 a pair and a 5 minute job to swap.
I'm looking at retrofitting Bluetooth too as spec wise that's the only area it's lacking, other than that I've no plans for it other than to enjoy it.

Thanks for the comments chaps. I know what you mean about the flies, whenever its stationary for more than 30 seconds it gathers quite a collection!
Its a petrol, only ever had one diesel, a horrible VW Bora many years ago that really put me off them. I dont do anywhere the near the miles to make one worthwhile.

OP, it's great to see a colour in the sea of white/silver/grey/black cars around these days - but I'm not sure about yellow! Your previous red one looks great though. 
I had an X-plate Leon Cupra in 2003 for a couple of years and really liked it - but it didn't make sense to keep it when I started getting a car allowance for doing significant business miles (so I bought a diesel).

Still enjoying life with the Skoda, no news on the tensioner the garage seems to be avoiding answering my question, ho hum!
I finally managed to get some time to fit my new not-very-exciting-to-anybody-but-me goodies this past weekend.

To top it off gave it a quick wash, I'm no detailing obsessive but it comes up well enough from 6 feet away or so!
In other news Mrs Thrust picked up the replacement for her written off Leon last weekend:
She catches the train to work every day so I've been driving it more than she has, it's a hardship I can put up with

All is not well in Skoda land.
About 6 weeks ago on my way home from work the power dropped significantly, the engine became lumpy as all fook and white smoke was pouring out of the exhaust. Managed to nurse it to my friends house nearby and called the breakdown people. It was clearly running on 3 cylinders and I was told to get it to a garage, as it was late and it was in a safe place I left it until the morning. Rocked up at my friends house, started it up and it ran fine! Drove it to the garage, all fine. Left it with them over the weekend and they couldn't find anything wrong.
Ran fine for two weeks, then the same thing happened. Stopped, turned if off for a bit, started it back up and it was fine again. It's been fine since but my confidence in it has taken a knock.
Also the gearbox has developed an interesting judder when moving off or letting it "creep". And it properly "clunks" into first gear. And reverse.
I'm going to look at a Volvo estate tomorrow!
