I'm new to PDA's. I want one for business. Travelling in the UK and abroad, for Internet/emails and Word/Excel, with WiFi and GPRS, and one of those fold-up keyboards. Music and video capability is unimportant. Price is not a major issue. Any suggestions? Cheers Phil

HP 4700 - the nuts - with all the toys and the most gorgeous screen. Got one myself and it rocks - still can't get my head around sitting in the bath streaming Radio 1 through it via my wireless connection!!!

Get the keyboard separatly though - plenty to choose from...

Yep the 4700

Smart bit of kit that, very reasonably priced too.

Thanks guy's - had a look at the spec and it is a great piece of kit expect for the lack of GPRS - I visit a lot of places that don't have WiFi.

Would Bluetooth via my mobile phone be fast enough for email with attachments and browsing?

Also available is the HP6340 - the processor is different and the RAM less (128MB HP 6340 Vs 196MB HP700) - other than that they look similar.

Anyone experience of the HP6340?

Cheers

Phil

Take a look at the Orange SPV M2000/O2 XDA IIs/iMate PDA2K (all basically the same model). I have the SPV M2000 and it does everything you asked - even has a built in keyboard (small, but usable for short messages).

Just don't buy one from the O*e St*p Ph*ne Sh*p!

I wouldn't recommend an iPaq. The battery life is pants, they crash all the time and they're effectively a peripheral to a PC, making them hard to use if you're away from your 'home' PC a lot.

The X30 only has a QVGA screen according to the link you provided.

Windows 2003 SE does support screen rotation on the fly but only QVGA on this model.

Actually, you may well be right - typed the above rather quickly!

Yep, the X50 is the 480x640 model. The X30 gets great write ups though.

I might have been interested had I not just bought a Toshiba E800
