Have to say that after the Top Gear review I was expecting the 12c ride to be more shall we say “fluid”. I’m now not sure it’s 100% spot on.

It’s a bit lumpy and doesn’t cope brilliantly with bumps and lumps (I.e. normal British roads), so need to ask are there common faults that occur to cause this, or is it entirely normal?

Yep it's the suspension that needs checking. I had same issue it was pretty easy fix at the dealers.

I just picked up a 650S. I think the ride is fantastic, amazing even. It’s v compliant and doesn’t seem to get disturbed. Gives you a lot of confidence as a driver.

Is it a magic carpet that removes all bumps and rough patches? No. You still feel them, you still get some shudders through the car. But it’s different to any other car I’ve had. Compared to various Porsche’s I’ve had I find it far more comfortable.

Ask your dealer to check that the hydraulic accumulators are working 100% correctly. a fair few cars have had them replaced under warranty. The 12c ride at speed on a typical uk road should be very very good, not in the sense you don't feel them as you will but more that the car doesn't get unsettled or jarred by bumps.
