Hi, I was driving down the M1 to work usual route and I was having difficulty seeing my Google maps navigation on the holder due to light reflection so with one hand I was moving the holder the phone was in on my dash slightly and just adjusting it, when I noticed a marker BMW facing the same direction I was travelling parked in a lay by ahead

Does anyone know if they have any sort of video recording system that would've potentially put me in trouble as it could've looked like I was doing some form of activity with my phone. What would he be doing? The doors and windows of their car were closed.

I only passed a year ago so I would lose my licence straight away even with no previous offences if I got something related to using a mobile phone
Thanks

There is no offence of handling a phone holder whilst driving. There is an offence of not being in proper control of vehicle if your driving was affected though. From what you describe... No chance will you hear anything.

Most likely doing paperwork and waiting for an ANPR ping.

Nothing to worry about, CSI isn't real and he won't go back to station and enhance the image/video 30 times to see you fiddling with the phone holder.

You would have been pulled there and then if there was an issue.

You need to give up driving. You’ve started three threads on here and all three are completely paranoid. It would be safer all round if you just went back to public transport.

There’s another poster who posts similar paranoid stuff too. Maybe you could meet up and swap stories.

They would have pulled you there and then, if you are that paranoid then wait 6 months, the statutory time limit runs out after 6 months from the date of the offence and nothing can be done.

but you shouldn't worry about it

What is it with these posts!? We can’t possibly tell you anything that you don’t already know.

Wait and see if a letter turns up in the post, if it does, it will tell you everything you need to know.

Relax.
