Be in Winchester this weekend.

Failed to get a table at The Black Rat as left it all a bit late - booooo!

Recommendations for somewhere a bit special for one night and also which is the best Indian Restaurant in town for the other night? Gandhi looks good but there are a few...

Bit special? Chesil Rectory gets my vote, just down towards town from The Black Rat on the other side of the road.

Indian? There are loads, but which one is best, not sure!!!

Yeah that caught my eye - worth the wait if they can only seat us at 9:30pm?

The Japanese place looks intriguing.

Kyoto Kitchen is excellent.

I’d go for Chesil Rectory after the Black Rat

If you are ok with travelling a few miles north this place is really nice:

So is Chesil worthy of a very late sitting, 9:30, or shall i pass?...

I prefer eating a bit earlier but if you are going to pass where would you go?

Hotel du Vin is pretty good or more gastro pub The Wykeham Arms

Chesil Rectory is very good but 21:30 would be too late for me

Gurkha's Kitchen is my favourite Indian in Winchester (although Technically it is Nepalese)

The Bugle Inn is a little way out of town but serves very good food

Rick Stein has a seafood place (managed by his son) which is generally quite good too

The Wykeham arms is quirky and serves good food in its restaurant area

7 miles out from Winchester, and highly recommended. Although you'll probably have the same issues booking a table...

Ended up Diya last night for curry after perusing the other. It lacked in atmosphere and service was pretty poor but food was rather good smile

Still undecided on tonight but all the options given above are very helpful cheers

Smashing in some miles on the SDW to work up an appetite.
