"Confirmed" build date put back 5 weeks

My Mrs has a Merc GLA on order via a broker.
We had a confirmed build date from mercedes in Oct, but we've just now had another email saying its been put back 5 weeks. WTF?
Is it normal for "confirmed" build dates to be pushed back?

Count yourself lucky you aren’t one of the guys with delayed VW group cars who ordered in Feb/March/April and may not get the car until 2019!

Not surprising. could be down to all the latest emissions re-testing fiasco going on at the moment?

I thought Mercedes had WLTP under control. I was thinking that the dealership gave my build slot to someone else. I've queried WTF is going on through the broker but haven't heard back yet.

I've now heard back - apparently due to WLTP.
Not much I can do I guess. It's annoying that its referred to as a "confirmed build date". I think it should be renamed "speculative build date"!
