Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows the likely production numbers for the upcoming Speedster model? I understand it's likely to be an estimate but any views on worldwide and UK numbers?

Cheers

smile OK, I should have known the 1948 number based on the 70th anniversary. How many will make it to the UK?

Likely 2 units per OPC on average?

Yeah, I was hoping it might be a bit more if the overall number is 1948. Just trying to work out if there's any chance of getting one. I suspect it will be difficult.

Likely will need to have transacted on at least 5 units that are fairly high in the model range in the past 18-24 months or so at your local OPC and be on very good terms with the DP to have a chance

Read on another post 100 Speedsters coming to UK according to fellow who had chat with Porsche GB MD.

Going to be a fantastic car listening to that fabulous RSR derived GT3 engine with allegedly 520bhp and manual gearbox.

So based on base price of say £175k whats the flip value going to be when the first car comes on sale at JZM?

Normally the UK gets approx 10% of the special Porsches which translates to over 150.However with China becoming a big Porsche buying market i suspect it'll be closer to a 100 Uk Speedsters..

Approx 3 units per OPC on average then. Looking forward to seeing one in the metal- congrats to those who get one.

I wonder how much it will differ from the concept at FOS?

You also have to consider that porsche underprices cars in the UK - so they have even more incentive to sell them in other markets - keeps the perceived exclusivity/marketing effect high and makes them more money on those cars

Not entirely convinced the allocation varies that much to the UK with exchange rates. when the eur/gbp was very strong in 08/09 (like now with UK cars cheaper than europe), the 7.2 allocation for the UK I don't think was that far off the overall worldwide production as in 2014/15 when the eur/gbp went the other way and EU cars were very slightly cheaper while they were delivering the 991.1 GT cars.

a lot , not those wing mirrors, no central filler, plus I bet you get a roof, it will be a 991.2 cab with GT3 bumpers and engine ;-)
maybe just a bespoke rear deck.

and they love to dig into that parts bin for every thing :-)

he has already said the central filler and wing mirrors are a no go which really are the 2 things which make it look retro and set it apart ! , the thing will have a roof I am sure.

be interesting, but with modern regs and a bin full of parts their hands are tied a bit more than they would like.
