I was thinking of changing my car a month or so ago and decided to put my car into Webuyanycar.com for a valuation.

Ever since I have been getting weekly emails saying they will offer more for it.

Over the time its gone up by £1000 and is now at £6000.

Is there any reason for this? Its just a Golf MK6 GTD,

Tempting you to take your car to one of thier outlets for an appraisal perhaps. They will then knock it back to or below the original online estimate.

I tried similar here in Austria, offered me 11k for my MX5 so I brought it there, they then offered me (after wasting about an hour taking photos and checking it over/test drive, and finding no issues at all!).... 7k!

I asked why the huge gap between the internet price and the actual price, especially given they found no issues with it to reduce cost like damage etc, the only excuse was the market wasn't interested in a cabrio at that time and it was older, he had no answer when i asked why the internet price didn't reflect this since it new the age and what type of car it was!

Never again, total waste of time and just pissed me off for the day!

My daughter was part ex'ing her fiesta with a main dealer, they offered £7500, WBAC offered the same then increased the valuation to £8300 over the next 2 weeks, We knew any offer would be knocked back due to some bodywork dings and lowish tread on front tyres, booked the appointment as we had nothing to lose and got just over £8k - result

I got the same. My c4 grand picasso went up nearly a grand from WBAC to just under 11k, so I booked an appointment. Bloke looked all round the car, said it's it near perfect condition and then offered £900 less!!!

To his utter amazement I told him where to go and walked away....
