Just a heads up.. Anyone looking at the very low miles late SP6 Cerb with BCA atm.. It's worth checking it's history, it might have come from up north. Might be some info floating about on social media.

No history of the damage as it has been brought over like it, it seems, and poorly repaired. Clutch slave is also gone apparently..

No windscreen either judging by the photos. Hope it can be brought back from the dead!

It has a screen now, and has been "repaired" on the quiet and it seems not well.

This was just a post so anyone who wanted a remote bid, or new to the brand didn't get caught with their pants down. By all accounts it looks shiny in a photo.. The BCA condition sheet states poor repairs on pretty much every panel, plus the chap who chopped it in to WBAC has even stated the "bodywork wasn't great".

It could be a lovely car for someone at the right price to make it worth it (Jap grey import also).. Late Cerb and Rolex blue is stunning.

I nearly went to look at it when it was last on eBay as it was on my doorstep so to speak, but then it rang bells with me that it had been imported damaged ( was on eBay at the time at a Jap salvage dealer in Yorkshire if I recall).

That is the one.. By all accounts it has had a large smack, including roof damage, not recorded, and repaired poorly..

Nothing to do with our friends up north it transpires, so apologies in that case for the connection. Imported by a Jap crap import company. Looks like the damage was done before it was registered in this country.

The invoices from HHC look really good value

£240 labour to remove gearbox and fit supplied clutch slave - bargain!

Perhaps it's easier on a SpeedSix and the manifolds aren't a problem

Hammer went down at 16.8k.. Interesting to see where it pops up and in what state.

Crazy money for the condition/history really, and it is an SP6!

So this Cerb has reared it's head again, shiner with a new plate..

MY55TVR now.. And done 5 miles since it's MOT in December. No mention of the slave being replaced yet either.

It had a slave fitted just before it changed hands, which promptly failed again.. Depends then if it has been done again properly.

The other work is paintwork correction, and it needed more than that..

  • This thread is merely a buyer beware as the history is quite significant and being hidden. It could well be a rough gem.

So someone new to Cerbs bought this unaware, some of the poor repairs passed off as paint blemishes, rather than what they actually are. Suffice to say he isn't very happy. A shame, as it is now a tainted entry into Cerb ownership for him. There are further issues with the car also. Unfortunately the dealer sold the car as a private sale, so he can't just hand it back either.

As a dealer this is not allowed and would never stand up in court. As far as the buyer is concerned it should be treated as a trade sale and he does have some recourse. This is a case of the trader knowing its dodgy and trying to pass it off as a private sale. Very Naughty!

Are Speed Sixes of that vintage OK without an engine rebuild?

Yeah, I think the later ones were ok but the reputation had already been founded by then.

Wipers could well be the steering wheel ribbon cable, works then doesn't as it makes then breaks contact.
Aircon not working, I spent 10 years on and off chasing leaks on mine until they were all fixed.
Central locking? does he mean the alarm/imobiliser?
