Just had the pleasure of spilling 2.5 litres of brilliant white acrylic paint in the footwell of my car...

The floor mat took the brunt so out that came and hosed till clean. Then blotted the interior carpet with wet and dry cloths.

I seemed to get most of it out but there is still a bit of a stain. I have some autoglym carpet shampoo that I am going to use tomorrow with a soft brush.

Any other ideas, suggestions or can speak from experience... today has been quite a sweary day.

Probably best to not let it dry, persevere until it's gone!

Luckily I wasn’t far from home but typically it was 15 min quick dry stuff, tried to keep it as wet as possible to get the most out. Hopefully I have diluted it enough to almost brush out.

Been through a Costco roll of kitchen roll, an old Egyptian cotton super king duvet cover and 6 microfibre cloths... I’m not sure I can do much more tonight.

What's the car op? Might be with just buying a second hand carpet instead of trying to get it out.

You'll need to remove the carpet and soak it in thinners. Even then there's no guarantee it will come out.

It’s an A45, the carpet is all hidden away behind trims, taking it out was my first thought, but ended up too daunting.

My wife had a good idea and kind of inline with the more paint option... you get like the black shoe repair stuff or something similar to back to black for upholstery. Just thinking ahead for after the car carpet shampoo and brush etc.

What doesnt shampoo out - straight up - a rattle can of satin black.

Have a rag and some alcohol ready to rub it off if it’s a bad colour match before it dries, but usually works on black carpets and parcel shelves.

For any other muppets out there who don’t secure the lid and it falls over.

Thank you Which Best Buy dr Beckmann and VAX... carpet is looking a little “used” but have seen some fabric dye the should freshen it right up. Even now you wouldn’t know the paint had been there. I wish I’d taken before and after.

Stubborn last spot keeps seeping through... it was all over the floor, you wouldn’t notice now especially when I put the foot mat down.

This was the result of day 2 cleaning (getting rid of spot etc) still loads of paint, water and chemicals came out.
