Chimaera vs parking garage
Discussion
So I'm thinking of renting a garage for a couple of months out in Spain where I work so I can get some use out of the chimaera on weekends. It's an underground garage where the entrance goes from flat to a steep slope down. Before bringing my car out here I want to check I will actually be able to get it in the underground parking without grounding out the front/middle/back. As I am also at work I cannot measure my car.
Using Google and Wikipedia, with the wheelbase length of 2.28m and clearance of 0.13m (someone correct Meifod wrong) I calculate I can drive over a surface that has a sudden angle change of 12 degrees (a hump so to speak) without bottoming out anywhere between the two wheels.
My issue comes with the front and back at the "dip" at the bottom of a slope.... Does anyone know how far forward or back the wheelbase is longitudinally? Essentially distance from back of the car to back wheel centrepoint.
Easiest way to be honest is if someone shoved a piece of wood in front of the wheel, lifted one end up to the bodywork and measured the angle but seems strange to ask that.
Very tempted to hope for the best and just keep a couple of offcuts of wood in the car just in case I need to shove them under the wheels to ease the angle changes. I would Park it outside but the Spanish don't tend to park without playing bumpercars at the same time.

Can't help with the dimensions but I toured Northern Spain this year in my Chimaera and I grounded the car in every hotel underground car park I went in, I didn't have a problem at the bottom of the slope but at the top, they were all far to steep and just flattened out at the top.
Check the top of your chosen garage for grounding marks they all had them.

And this is my worry. I'm thinking a couple of pieces of wood may well be enough to just increase the ground clearance and get me over easy.
Yep. I wouldn’t worry about it, find a local wood shop when your there if needs be. If you run the correct ride height you should just about clear most things. The problem is builders not considering the angle enough. Pretty damn stupid when you think about it.
I’d much prefer to have my car where it's at home in a warm climate and worry about the ramps when your there than leave it to rot here in the cold!
Enjoy
