997.1 Check Engine Light
Discussion
So yesterday I was driving home from a sunny weekend in northern Italy and was looking forward to some alpine passes when this happend:

I was devastated, to say the least. I tanked just before, respectively the OH did. So I made sure she used the right fuel, which she did, but she didn't turn the filler cap to the famous three clicks. So I stopped and turned the cap 'til I heard it click 5 times. Of course it didn't rectify the CEL which reappeared after idling for 5 seconds.
Oil level, temp. and pressure where ok, as was the water temp. No funny noise but I was nursing the car. I pretty soon figured it would be something with the lambda sensor, or the like but I didn't wanted to take any chances.
At home I plugged in my iCarsoft Por II and sure enough I had the fault P2098 "Post catalyst fuel trim system too lean, bank 2" in the system. Deleted it and on a very short drive around the block it didn't reappear again.
What do you guys recon, should I first try an Italian tune up and maybe clean the MAF, or should I change the O2 Sensor asap?
As long as the CEL doesn't come back on, I presume the air/fuel mixture should be in the green, right?

I would wait to see if the fault comes back before panicking. That's an impressive figure on the odometer though 320K or 200K miles is nice to see on a 911.
Thanks for the comment. I was more annoyed of a great drive that I had to take much more relaxed than I'd usually had done, than anything else. I will see whether the fault comes back and act accordingly. And yes, I enjoy not having a garage queen and driving her instead
. Can't wait to take both, a 320k km and a 200k miles photo
Well, unfortunately 300 miles later the CEL came back on
This time it is not the P2098 code, but rather P0430 and P0420.
Cleared the codes and 200 miles later they come back
Will have to book the car in for service and for further investigation.
The cats have been refurbished (with new internals) and all 4 Lambda sensor have been replaced 2 years / 20k miles ago by a Porsche specialist/engine builder in Germany at vast expenses (previous owner).
I fear I'm in need of some new cat, although I's take this as an opportunity to go for some 200 sports cats
