The last of my friends to smoke 'real' cigarettes, has finally quit.

Do you still smoke real ones, rather than vaping?

No never have or tried, each to their own but my opinion is it is a smelly horrible habit and most smokers are vile with no consideration for others, the amount of times while riding a motorbike I was hit by still lit butts being flicked out of car windows or even empty packets!

Stopped in 2012, can't imagine lighting a fag now. The thought of it just horrifies me.

Went to vape about 3 years ago... I've not smoked cigarettes since, except for 2 occasions..both times at a festival, ended up buying some rolling baccy and some liquorice papers as I had no way to charge the batteries up. Literally got back to the car park and ditched what was left in the bin and back to the vape.

I use the little vape sticks with little cartridges... it looks like a mini cigarette... but isn't one of these ones that produce a cloud like a small factory chimney.

I'm slowly bringing the strengths down and looking to quit completely. (currently on the 6mg, down from 18mg)...

To bring some balance to this thread, I do.

I vaped for a year before going back to analogues. I find vaping affects my asthma where as real smoking doesn't, how odd.

Gave up about 10 years ago.

I've tried to avoid being the 'bitter ex smoker' but it doesn't take long to see how fking stupid it was.

FIL has just had 2 heart surgeries and a couple of TIAs partly at least caused by smoking, the Guy's got a Vac Dressing on (unpleasant) and can't walk far, but still shuffled down the road in the drizzle to hand over £10 or whatever they cost now for another 20.

I don’t think you understand what ‘each to their own’ means.

I used to smoke quite heavily - could easily get through 20 or more full fat B&H in a single evening at the pub.

Gave up on 2 January 2006. Hadn't planned to, just woke up and didn't feel like smoking any more.

Never craved a cigarette since, even prior to the smoking ban kicking in (2007 ?).

People smoking around me these days doesn't especially bother me - live and let live. In fact, I'd say the smokers I know are far more concerned about [not] smoking near me than I am about them sparking up in my company.

Never smoked - once had a nurse carry out a checkup on me for private health insurance. She asked if I smoked, I said 'no, never'. She replied that she didn't believe me and went to fetch the old peak flow meter. I pinged the end, she then believed me biggrin

The best design they could make was a dildo shape. In reality even though vapers think they look cool, the rest of non vapers look at them and think what a fking tt.

Smoked heavily for 10 or 12 years. Started far too young, quit when I was 25, now 30.

I still smoke when I'm around other smokers. Find it quite easy not smoke now day to day, or when at home. But if I'm out with smokers I often give into temptation.

I've just never got that feeling that some people get when they quit that they're disgusting etc. etc. I miss them to be honest.

I'm comfortable enough with my situation now as an occasional smoker.

It will be a year since I 'stopped smoking' later this week. I smoked a few here and there at parties, I smoked a few at a music festival, and I smoked at least 20 on holiday last week.... I'm quite happy with this for now.

P.S. I do vape when I drink, and no, I don't care if others don't like it!

Day 35 off the fags. Vape only now.

I'm entirely happy sticking the silver phallus in my mouth, not because I think it looks cool, but because it's saving me about £50/wk, I no longer smell and presumably it's not fking my body as much as fags did.

I intend coming down the levels of nicotine to 0 by Xmas, although it remains to be seen how difficult that is.

Cigarette free for the last few years now. I vape instead though, which is a lot nicer.
Still quite pro the green stuff though.
