Anyone got anything good or bad to say about N/A Imprezas?

If you don't need the pace of the WRX or STI, but just want something reliable and decent to drive they look like a worthwhile consideration. 2.0 N/A still puts out over 160 hp and gets to 60 in under 9 seconds.

I'm aware the running costs are a higher than an Astra or Focus, but it doesn't seem too much of an issue for the sake of owning something a little more interesting than usual fodder.

Just interested to know what experiences others have had.

Not the Impreza, but we've had 3x Outbacks with the N/A engine (in 2.5 form) in the household and it's been average in terms of reliability, not quick, but reasonably frugal.

If you really want an Impreza then go for it, but the engine is forgettable at best.

If you're looking at the pre - Hatchback models, check Mot history for rust.

I've been looking for a WRX Wagon circa 2005, but sadly they're all suffering badly.
