I asked about the best way to go mono the other day and got some tips.
I also had a look about and got a fantastic plugin which does a really good job of it.
It has loads of features but really lets you tune them to your own tastes.
If you run it, either choose a preset and go from there or click the option for photographic style and do what you want.
Loads of colour options too.
