What I'd like to know is, do they all have crappy interiors or do you have to shop around to find a good one?

I'm seen some quite nice ones and alot of really dreadful ones!

My interior was in very good condition. The seats had the usual leather wear marks but aside from that great, Just ask Jons_s3. Generally I found it was the magnolia interiors that suffered the worst, being nearly white and all.

they are out there..... but an interior is easier and cheaper to rectify than a chassis so don't forget the underneath

Certainly not all, my car interior was in good condition when I bought it and it had done 80K miles? So just depends whether the owners have looked after it. The interiors are relatively cheap to get retrimmed though anyway, have a look at my profile, mine was retrimmed as I wanted to change the colour.

When I was looking it was almost always the 'wood' that was in a bad way.

Doesn't take much to do your own thing with it though

The carpets can have a hard time if the cockpit is not water tight and there are lots of ways for water to get in.

However as long as the vinyl or leather is not ripped then a weekend with a hoover and some cleaning products can make a huge difference to a tired interior.

As has been said, getting re-trims done is not too expensive and nothing compared to having to get chassis work done.
